Test Registration
Juniors should end their year with test scores that they are satisfied with sending to universities. To accomplish this, Juniors should register for at least two SAT and ACT Tests their eleventh grade year. It is recommended Juniors take their first test January-March and their second test April-June. Students should register for both the SAT and ACT as they may prefer one one over the other.

Keys to College Applications
1. Know application deadlines! Some deadlines are as early as October. All required documents and test scores should be prepared weeks before deadlines. Keep a calendar of important deadlines. Remember if you want to receive scholarships from colleges you have to apply as early as August & September of your senior year.
2. Touring colleges is the key to a successful college experience! You should never attend a college that you have not seen before. Visit college websites to schedule a guided tour.
3. College application fee waivers are available to seniors on the free/reduced lunch program. See Mrs. Tate to request fee waivers.
4. Have Mrs. Tate review completed college applications prior to submission.
5. Take your time with college application essays. This is your time to let the college know more about you, not just what is listed on your transcript.
7. Most colleges do not require or read letters of recommendations. Verify the letters are required before you ask someone for a letter of recommendation.
